Building Materials Don’t Just Throw Themselves Away

I barely understand half of the Australian slang I heard each day, but decided to build a house after I had lived in Australia for three months.  The old building on my lot had to be torn down and the men I hired to do it said I need to order a skip.  I had no idea what that meant but wouldn’t admit it, so I did an Internet search for, “skip hire sydney“.  I ordered the bin I would need, and arranged to have it emptied on a schedule.  When my contractor asked if I had ordered a skip I told him that naturally I had.  After all, building materials don’t throw themselves away.
