Improv Comedy Shows

23 January 2010

Improv comedy shows are the best kind of comedy to see as a live performance.  There are many funny comedians who have honed jokes over years.  They spend time tweaking and trying new material, but often that comes across in the performance as seeming old or similar to other comedians you have seen or heard before.  In order to get that amazing feeling of being part of the show and creating something that nobody has ever seen or heard before you have to see improv comedy live.  By booking improv for your event you can always ensure a personalized, one of a kind, memorable event.

I Was Inspired To Take An Acoustic Guitar Lesson

21 January 2010

I once got this bug in my brain about learning music. There was something about music that hit me all of a sudden. I just needed to learn. So I went to the music store and just browsed around, and listened for inspiration. Finally a guitar reached out and spoke to me. It said to take an acoustic guitar lesson. So sure enough, they had an acoustic guitar lesson that very night. That was seventeen years ago, and now my guitar skills are beyond belief. The moral of the story? Listen to your inspiration. You’ll never ever be let down.

Learning to Play Guitar

15 January 2010

With the great number of instructional dvd’s available in the market today it’s a tad bit overwhelming for a guitar newbie like me to actually be expected to pick and choose the one that I think would work best for me, but I found out that actually finding the best guitar lesson DVD doesn’t have to be that tedious a task.  I just have to make sure that certain important things are offered by the dvd tutorial.  One, for example, is the expertise of a professional guitar player.  Another, is multiple camera angles so I can exactly where my hands should be on the guitar. Finally, it’s important to me that the dvd has great support that will help answer my questions about the lesson.

Carrying on from part 1, where I came across an actors headshot taken in poor light and therefore leaving the actors with two black holes where his eyes should have been.

Why didn’t the photographer do something about this, AND more importantly why didn’t the actor realise that his eyes couldn’t be seen and say something to his photographer AND just as important why would he use this headshot to promote himself?

Didn’t he realise that his eyes were the most important part of the shot? didn’t he understand that he was selling himself short in this ultra competitive market where you only have seconds to impress?

I also wondered if he knew about this stuff and if his photographer had ever mentioned or knew themselves how important the eyes are in an actors headshots?

I am saddend when I see this kind of poor photography, partly because it brings my profession into disrepute but mainly for the actor who has wasted their money and is unknowingly promoting himself with a headshot that is doing him no favours at all. He should be on the phone asking for his money back – not a reshoot in this case as the photographer clearly does not understand on of the most fundamental rules of photography.

How to Sing Using Your Diaphragm

11 January 2010

Have you ever wondered why your voice isn’t as powerful as the stage performers that you go see? The reason is probably because they are singing with their diaphragm and you are not. But anyone can learn how to sing using your diaphragm. The diaphragm is just a group of muscles that surround your lungs. If you are going to be a powerful singer, you need to know how to utilize these muscles to squeeze the air out of your lungs. The more breath that you can get into your voice, the louder and more powerful your voice will be.

My Husband Rodger Wants To improve alternate picking

11 January 2010

My husband Rodger is a very special man because he is so considerate and thoughtful, and because he always finds a way to balance his time with family and his time at work and with his hobbies.  On the weekends my husband plays with a trio of other musicians at a small local blues club, and it is one of his favorite ways to spend his downtime.  Rodger wants to learn how to improve alternate picking because he is hoping to continue to hone his skills.  He said that if they are able to book an extra night or two a month at the club, it could mean some nice extra income for us.

Counting dots

09 January 2010

On top of that, some fulfillment services companies even come complete with their own call center. The call center can be used for anything, appointment setting, lead generation, event planning, advertising, surveys, or reservations. Fulfillment service centers serve as convenient centers that take a load off and do the hard work for you. It is common for many companies to outsource their fulfillment needs to other companies both nationally and internationally. Doing so frees up time to take care of other things on your packed to-do list, like counting the dots on your wall. And sometimes counting those dots can be fun!

Tools Help the Pro

04 January 2010

photographer produces and preserves images that paint a picture, tell a story, or record an event. To create high-end, top quality photographs, photographers need technical expertise, the proper training, creativity, and the appropriate kind and amount of professional equipment. Producing a successful picture requires choosing and presenting a subject to achieve a particular effect, and selecting the correct tools. For example, a photographer may enhance the subject’s appearance with natural or artificial light, shoot the subject from an interesting angle, draw attention to a particular beneficial aspect of the subject by blurring the background, or use a series of lenses to produce desired levels of detail at various distances from the subject.
